About the Flip Project

The Flip Project (formerly known as “Flip 2020”) helped to shift the US Senate to a Democratic majority during by targeting competitive races with mobile canvass teams. Now as The Flip Project, we work to keep and strengthen that majority.

The Flip Project began with a small vagabond canvass in 2018 in Tampa Florida which helped pass the restoration of felon voting rights in that state. We developed pandemic compliant canvassing in Maine during the 2020 General Election, then shifted to support Senators Ossoff and Warnock Georgia during the 2020/2021 Georgia Senate runoff election. Now we’re back in Georgia supporting Senator Reverend Warnock in the 2022 runoff election.

We are canvassers who have discovered that singing doubles the number of voters coming to the door), organizers of spectacular events, and publicists of free Uber and other free rides to the polls.

We reach voters via signs at bus stops, bulletin boards at laundromats, business cards at pawn shops and taquerias and convenience stores, and so much more.

In 2020/2021 we translated and distributed voting materials for the Georgia Senate runoffs into over a dozen languages, making voting more accessible to people who speak English as a 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th) language. We work to support voter registration, design eye-catching and unconventional GOTV efforts, support ballot curing, and much more. You can see more about our approach and our results in the Flip Georgia 2020 Impact Report.
